Faux news is to air a fauxumentary Sunday, November 21st, at 9pm EST titled, I have been told, "Breaking Point: Hating America."
As a media critic (and as a person, for goodness sakes) I hate to prejudge unduly.
But it appears that the drift of this Faux doc will be that there are some horrible people around the world who for some completely unaccountable reason, find fault with George Bush, or with the U.S. government. The "unnaccountable" part ain't quite right, but then it gets weirder (again, I prejudge).
These horrible people, I think we're going to be told, possess immense powers to sway the publics in their countries into becoming "anti-American."
I'm pretty sure I'll be one of those presented as exhibits, as one of these obtuse demagogues whose only aim in life is to hate George Bush which is presented as being the same as hating America.
It will be interesting for me to learn how great are these powers I hold and how I abuse them.
Of course, we may be presented as nobodies, as kooks who sway no one.
Makes a person wonder which he would rather be.

I guess that means hating jazz, hating the Grand Canyon, in the case of this Canadian hating his relatives and friends in the States, hating New York City in spite of my having said so often that I love New York, hating the University of Michigan where I studied and learned so much and hating the professors I respected there, who taught me U.S. History, American Humour, American Literature. I guess that means hating San francisco, even though I got there every chance I get so as to enjoy the food that I must hate or else....or else...I wouldn't be "anti-American."
Seems to me people blindly for their country right or wrong generally do it more harm than almost anyone, in the long run.
Anyway, I plan to be in the States with friends watching "Breaking Point: Hating America."
I'll rejoin you with my review of it: post-judging, which is the right way around.

I am watching your Great Conspiracy. It's very interesting. I will freely admit that I feel inside the bubble and find it very difficult to believe that the government was complicit in this.
However, I also realize that the us govt has carried out coups and all sorts of things in _other_ countries, so it is certainly possible that it was complicit in this.
I will really sadden me and make me disgusted if it is true. Operation Northwoods is quite frightening, but thankfully it didn't take place.
I have a lot of trouble believing that the buildings were demolished, but the speed of the collapse is troubling. I think your material is quite good, but can you recommend some other good resources?
I'm tired of reading that "no plane" hit the pentagon or "holograms" or other nonsense about the WTC. Instead, if something is askew, I apply Occam's razor and say that it's likely that events happened as they physicalled appeared to, but that the behind the scenes events were not as we've been told.
So, as Alex Jones and other have said, it is likely that more footage of the pentagon crash will be revealed to the public, to embarass the "no plane" movement.
Anyway, I'm hooked on this topic and interested to weigh all sides of the evidence....

I wouldn’t hate Bush. He is just the front man to get chewed on. The guys behind orchestrating the events are more dangerous in my opinion. It is not the conservatives or the liberals. Either of the two choices are part of the plan. USA needs a new party and Canada as well. We need to go for the people that pool the strings not the puppets like Bush or Kerry or Hillary or whoever from the old boys (girls).

"This evening, I saw the very end of a Mansbridge interview with a 9-11 survivor. I checked the CBC web reference which went to a PBS reference.
He was one of a very few who walked out of the building. Most people decided to go up to avoid the smoke.

He put his hands up in front of his face and got blown many, many yards across Liberty Street, which I'd run across earlier. He was severely burned in the arm, he had head wounds, cracked vertebrae. He doesn't remember really what happened right after that, but he ended up at St. Vincent's Hospital. They called his wife and told her he was fine, but she was unable to get to him for a couple of days because all the routes and tunnels were closed; they weren't allowing access back into Manhattan. It occurs to me a key reason why the press doesn't want to investigate 9-11 is because of the flood of garbage theories that flooded out after the attacks, ahead of solid facts or evidence. They don't want to embarrass themselves by association.
Rex Murphy on CBC just panned the whole consideration as hogwash and the Vancouver Sun published the US state departments "Top 9-11 Myths Debunked" on 9/9 pg. C2. They mixed gossip about a Jewish conspiracy with a really odd interpretation of the building 7 "pull it" comment. In other words, blending the obviously bogus with the things that need more clarity.
On the other hand, the CBC broadcast 3 good documentaries on the events. While they didn't go into the bigger issues, they touch on more "acceptable" ones. The question of why people were jumping. The toxic slew that was the dust cloud and the disease thats followed. (HALF of the rescue workers are now sick!) And the steps that lead up to the event itself, begining with the original attacks. This last 2 hour one focuses around the original story but the level of incompetence of the days events is incomprehesible. One pilot lifted off with no weapons as that was the only plane available. He intended to ram a plane. The pentagon plane was chased by a cargo plane. Air Force One was basically off line. All flights were ordered out of the sky by air traffic control, not FAA or the military, because no one else seemed to be doing anything. For me, it adds another great question as to how this was possible, well past the issue of why no planes were availble to protect the targets.
So perhaps they're finding acceptable subjects now. Subjects that may yet lead to further investigation and revelations.
Thanks for sticking to facts. Stay away from opinions and theories as best you can. That just gives them an excuse to say "myth".

Before I get to my main point, I really would like to discuss some of the evidence you are presenting -- as the strongest case -- with you in more detail.
Particularly, the jet fighter response evidence has been challenged by these new audio tapes from the NEADS. Vanity Fair's article is particularly relevant, because that is what defenders of the government story will point to.
This needs a very meticulous and knowledgable response. Simply saying that jet fighters didn't show up for two hours, without further exploration is not going to be solid evidence to the uninitiated.
Now to the main point of contention with your latest article:

Silverstein admitted nothing!
You have to step back, and take in the possibility that you are wrong on this one. Further, that putting this claim out there is fundamentally damaging to credibility. Silverstein admitted no such thing. His quote does not confirm demoltion.
He wasn't even talking about the building at all, but about the firefighting relief effort:
"I remember getting a call from the, er, fire department commander,"
Are you alleging that this NY City Fire Department Commander was part of the conspiracy? Without corroboration of any kind? Without even a name? Without showing one piece of evidence linking the fire department to the demolition of the building? This would be laughed out of court.

That's the point of the phone call! How can you make the galactic leap from "not being able to contain the fire" to all of a sudden the NYFD is blowing up buildings!

Yes, obviously, the smartest thing was to pull the operation, get the men out and keep them from giving their lives in defense of property.

Silverstein is referring to the "they" that precedes the "pull" statement, NOT to the "collapse" that comes later.
There is no reason to assume that Silverstein -- an investor and
landlord -- would be bandying
about industry jargon such as "pull" to
refer to a building demolition. Nothing suggests that he would
understand that term in that context.
Certainly, he had no motive to say such a thing during an
interview.
Therefore, the most logical explanation is the simple misunderstanding
on the part of overzealous 9-11 researchers.
"Pull it," refers to pulling out the fire
crews from Building 7. Simple.
Whether Silverstein had additional information that the building was
wired for demolition is another story. He may have known of the
impending demoltion, and therefore wanted to
spare the fire crews from certain death. This is a definite possibility.
The "pull it" quote, however, is not evidence of controlled demolition,
merely of Silverstein's position as an authority figure with the
ability to order fire crews in and
out of buildings.

i don't know if this has been suggested before or if it's even doable. But couldn't a civil court be forced to examine the evidence via a lawsuit against the mainstream news outlets by the families of victims and anyone else affected by the false and misleading coverage of Fox, CNN, ABC, NBC, BBC and all the rest?
